Is your NEXT STEP tithing, budgeting, or maybe getting out of debt? Let’s get started!

DETERMINE THE “WHY?”

Finding the “WHY?” is a crucial first step in getting your finances in order! Maybe you want to get out of debt, maybe you’re tired of living paycheck to paycheck, maybe you want to fund a dream. When you find the “WHY?” you find the fuel to building a successful budget.

Take a few minutes right now and determine your “WHY?”

BUILD A BUDGET

A budget could change your way of life. Proverbs 21:5 says, “The plans of the diligent lead to profit as surely as haste leads to poverty.” As true as this verse is, it has two words to focus on – PLANS and DILIGENT. That means your finances need a plan, but they will also need diligence to follow through.

Before you get started here’s a few things you can do to get prepared.

GATHER YOUR PAPER WORK

Bills, receipts, personal expenses, paycheck stubs, and things like that.

SET A DATE

Plan a time with your spouse (if applicable) in a distraction-free environment to tackle your budget together.

ORGANIZE YOUR COSTS

TIME TO FILL IN THE BLANKS

When you begin to truly manage your finances in accordance with God’s word you become a better money manager and you’ll begin to take steps that you never dreamed of. Here is an order to help you begin managing your finances.

Put God first.

The in the book of Malachi it says “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.”

God should be first in your life and your finances. And when we give our first and best back to God He promises to bless the rest!

We recommend giving 10% (which is the standard tithe) to God.

Saving = Preparing.

Preparing for a family, preparing for a vacation, preparing for disaster. Saving is being prepared for life and not being knocked down.

We recommned 10% of your income go to this also.

Invest with the expectation that it will grow and fund your dreams. If your budget only focuses on your today, your tomorrow won’t look any better.

We recommend at least 10% of your income be invested.

It’s all downhill from here.

Now that you’ve put the first and best of your finances in order, the rest is easy!

BE PATIENT AND DILIGENT!

If it were a perfect world, our finances could be fixed immediately. Unfortunately, it isn’t, so be patient! It usually takes on average

3 MONTHS

for you to start seeing a real difference in your finances. Stick to your budget and everything will start falling into place.
